LEED & Sustainability
DeVerre ‘s elements can contribute to your LEED Certification. For MRc4.2: all of our products use at least 30% post-industrial recycled glass. For MRc5.2: 100% of the recycled glass used in our products is collected within 150 miles from our location. Our products qualify for credits when used in projects within 500 miles of our manufacturing site in Biglerville, PA, a radius that extends from Central Maine, west to Indiana, and down to South Carolina. Beyond LEED, the DeVerre studio follows an environmentally-conscious production model, eliminating carbon emissions with the use of high efficiency electric equipment rather than gas fired equipment. We are also developing alternative energy sources to significantly subsidize the use of “grid power.” We also use an inherently sustainable material: glass is primarily silica sand and when put back into the earth, under real conditions, will return to its origins as sand.
